Cheque Presentation to Local Group

Hampshire Whites were pleased to present a cheque for £300 to help Kick Start FC at Tidworth. Hampshire Whites raise their money through raffles and donations.

Shaun Spanswick, a long time member of Hampshire Whites has been a volunteer at Kick Start for a few years and suggested they would be a good cause to support.

Chris, Shaun, Simon. Jacqui and Mick went along to see them in action and to present the cheque. The more we found out about this charity the more we realised that it was an excellent match for us.

KICK START FC

In the UK, one in four people experiences a mental health issue each year. Yet many still suffer in silence, held back by stigma, fear, or the feeling that they won’t be understood. Too often, this leads to isolation—people withdrawing from their communities at the very time they need connection the most. That’s where we come in.

At Kick Start FC, we believe football is more than just a game—it’s a way to reconnect, rebuild confidence, and rediscover purpose. Our football therapy sessions create a safe, welcoming space where individuals can come as they are, free from judgement, and feel part of something again. Whether it’s the first step back into a group setting or a regular part of someone’s routine, every session is built on understanding, encouragement, and shared experience.

We see first-hand the difference that connection makes. A conversation on the sidelines, a moment of laughter, or simply showing up can be a powerful step forward. Through football, we help people form friendships, open up, and support one another in ways that feel natural and genuine.

We are deeply rooted in our community, and everything we do is shaped by the people we support. Our aim is not just to improve mental wellbeing, but to build stronger, more connected communities where individuals feel valued, supported, and understood.

Early support can change lives. By offering accessible, stigma-free programmes, we help people take those first steps towards better mental health—developing resilience, learning practical coping strategies, and finding strength in being part of a team.

At Kick Start FC, no one is on the sidelines. Together, we move forward.

You just need to turn up for the sessions and they are free to all participants. They are supported by donations and every little helps.
