To contact Mark, click here. Here is some more information about Mark; How long have you supported Leeds United?Approximately 40 years. First Leeds United game?Away against Bristol City in about 1974/75. It was abandoned 0-0 at half time due to a real 'Pea Souper'! I should have known then supporting Leeds was never going to be easy! My overiding memory of the game was standing at the front, and as I watched the match ball come over the adverising hoarding, I caught it! Then, out of the mist, walking towards me was a tall dark figure, clad in bright yellow with wet hair matted against the side of his face and a smile showing his missing front teeth. Joe Jordan scared the living crap out me that day! Earliest Leeds United memory? The cup final loss against Chelsea aged 8. I still recall the overwhelming sense of sadness as the final whistle went in the replay. Again, I should have realised then, that supporting Leeds would have it's fair share of heartaches! Most memorable moment?Clarke 1-0! In spite of league titles won since then, that still remains the time when I felt so happy, that I could have cried tears of joy! Mind you, I was only 10 at the time! Most memorable Hampshire Whites moment? The weekend that Ken Bates, Kevin Blackwell and Peter Lorimer visited us and followed up with the 4-3 victory against Southampton. Since then every trip with the HW's has been memorable due to the camerardery of our members. Secretary:
Chris Rumney In his role a secretary, Chris is the person you contact when you want tickets and he also processes all membership information and new membership applications. He is also the link between the Hampshire Whites and Leeds United and has direct contact with the Members Club manager. To contact Chris click here. Here is some more information about Chris; First Match? First match I went to Leeds was with my dad - a Sunderland fan - back in he early sixties. Used to spend weekends up in Beeston and can remember climbing in over what is now the North West corner of the Revie Stand. If I drive to the matches I still park up the top of Beeston Hill. First Leeds United memory? First real memory was of Norman Hunter thumping someone and immediately shouting `Ref' the man in black turned round to see the other player - I think it was Mike England of Spurs but could be wrong - retailiating by thumping Hunter back. England then got sent off. How could anyone not then fall in love with dirty dirty Leeds?
Best moments? Southampton 3 - Leeds 4, brilliant atmosphere all the way through even at 3-0 down and just shows you can't afford to make substitutions because you think the game is won. Sing along in the San Siro
Biggest bugbear? Players getting sent off for stupidity when the stakes are too high - Viduka in the relegation season for kicking the ball away when already on a yellow card springs to mind
Reason for the fall from grace? Stupidity, from: Woodgate and Bowyer Ridsdale never let a 'fan'; loose with the money O'Leary, had the best young team in the country and had to strenghthen it with overpaid, not good enough players, WHY? Greed, from Fowler Mills O'Leary et al
Reason for still following them in this crap division? I have no choice, it's part of me Atmosphere at the matches, especially away Because we will be back
The future? While we all know this is a crap divison at least the clubs in it have real fans - even some of the Milwall lot must be. Real fans in many of the premiership clubs are hard to find Football will implode. new technolgy will mean live matches will be on the the internet in good enough quality that Sky subscriptions will drop and then what? Have considered packing it up when we get back up to the lofty heights - probably won't be able to get a ticket for ER anyway when all the loyal fans return
Feel betrayed by......... Kewell the above greedy lot
Unsure of............. Kelly - how can someone who gives all his testomonial money away be that tight he wouldn't appear at the HW's benefit night for his charity? Smith, made a mistake and I'm sure he knows it
Thanks to........ The Revie team - every one of them was a legend Batty - turn up, play, get paid, go home Wilko's midfield Most of all the rest of the travelling Branch members for making it such a laugh even down in the dregs of football obscurity. Treasurer:

Here is some more about Stuart; How long have you supported Leeds United? 40+ years. First Leeds game? It was too many years ago to remember, but I think it was against Southampton at the Dell in the '60s. Most memorable Leeds United moment? Athough there were many memorable times, the league campaigns in 69, 74 and 92 and the Europen Finals, my favourite was the Centenary cup final win against arsenal in 1972. Well done Sniffer. I recall all the wining players were presented with commemorative plaques on the pitch. Most memorable Hamphire Whites moment? The play-off semi-final away wins against Preston & Carlisle. Worst? The 2 play-off defeats and the relegations! Newsletter and all round good guy:
Dave Tremlett Dave compiles the periodical newletters as well as generally helping out wherever and whenever he is needed. He assists Stuart with the co-ordination of transport requirements. He has also organised some overnight stays when we have travelled to games at Elland Rd. To find out more about the Newsletters click here. To contact Dave click here. Here is some more about Dave; How long have you supported Leeds United? I have supported Leeds for 19 years. What was your first Leeds game? Southampton v Leeds at the Dell, We won 3-1 with goals from Deane and Wallace (2) What was your best Leeds United moment? Two spring to mind. The 6-1 win at Elland Road against QPR and the other would have to be Southampton 3 Leeds 4 a few seasons back. The emotions felt that day were awsome feeling so low at half time and on cloud nine at the end of the match. Was made even better that the Police in the Leeds end who were my work colleagues knew I was a Leeds fan and spent most of the match laughing at me with a smug look when we were losing and avoided me for weeks after the game. What was your best Hampshires Whites moment? That would have to be the trips to away games in the pubs pre match. The best that spring to mind would have to be Swansea away, Southampton away, Swindon away and Coventry away. The play off final at Wembley was a great train Journey and day out until the second half. |
